Welcome

Who reads blogs? Who reads the ones black people publish? The answer to both questions is "me, you and everyone else we know." Right?

Of course not. You probably just read one or more of the following:

  • Who you know.
  • What interests you.
  • Who you think is good.
  • What you make time to find.

Or (like me) some combination thereof.

Before this Web site started, it was a thought. Briefly, it was an experiment in getting paid that petered out, perversely, just as real-world events made its focus timely.

But reading and listening to and thinking about and answering black people is not only timely. It's right on time. It's timeless. Even so, keeping track matters. So does sharing and crediting what you find.

The purpose of this blog is to keep track of things that black people blog that I find interesting. If you see something interesting that someone who is black has blogged, please tell me. The best place to send electronic mail is “blackosphere" at or in the vicinity of "gmail” "dot-com." When it comes to instant messaging, AIM or Yahoo at “allaboutgeorge" is good.

And now I guess it's time to start reading and blogging. Thanks for stopping by.
